how far you've
fallen.

Who We Are

This is not a program.
This is a move of God.

Breaking Bonds Ministries was born out of surrender — by people who know what the bottom looks like, and who know what Jesus does with a willing heart. Founded in 2021 in Jackson, MO by Breaking Bonds Leadership, what began as a gathering of men who simply wanted to stay free together has grown into something no one could have engineered on their own.

Breaking Bonds Jackson launched in 2021 in partnership with New McKendree United Methodist Church. We are a free, long-term, Christ-centered recovery home for men — planted in the countryside of Pocahontas, Missouri, set apart from the noise, and completely dependent on Jesus.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ministry. Every man enters free of charge.

Jesus Is the Foundation

Jesus Christ is the center of everything at Breaking Bonds — the beginning, the process, and the finish line.

🔥

Focused on God and the Man

Breaking Bonds is God-breathed. Sound in truth and honor. What happens here cannot be explained by human effort alone.

🤝

Brotherhood & Accountability

Men live together, work together, pray together, and fight for each other. That is not a side effect of the program — it is the program.

🧭

Purpose Over Survival

We are not just helping men get sober. We are raising up men who know who they are, why they're here, and where they're going.

The Program

Seven months that can change everything.

From 5:45am devotionals to evenings filled with worship, mentorship, and brotherhood — life at Breaking Bonds is intentional, structured, and saturated in the presence of God.

01

Faith & Devotion

Each day begins before sunrise with devotional time, Scripture, and prayer. The Word of God is not an add-on — it is the anchor of every single day.

02

Work & Character

Men work in the community 5–6 days a week — outdoor work, construction, moving jobs, and more. The menial becomes meaningful when done in a posture of servitude.

03

Brotherhood & Meals

They cook for each other, eat together, live together. The table is one of the most powerful tools of transformation at Breaking Bonds.

04

Worship & Encounter

Weekly worship nights, retreats, and powerful services pour life into these men. The presence of God is not occasional — it is the culture of this house.

05

Mentorship & Counsel

Men of God, leaders of integrity, and wise counselors pour into these men regularly — equipping them not just for sobriety, but for a life of purpose.

06

Life Education

Teachers who carry character and wisdom teach the practical things of life and faith — preparing men to step into the world ready, equipped, and whole.

Work & Community

Character is built with calloused hands.

The work program at Breaking Bonds is one of the most powerful and distinct elements of what we do. These men don't sit still — they show up, sleeves rolled up, hearts open, and serve.

The community of Cape Girardeau County has taken notice. Businesses, churches, families, and organizations have developed a deep respect for the character these men carry. The work is a testimony before a word is ever spoken.

They regularly serve at Hope House in Stoddard County and partner with several local churches — building, lifting, serving, and showing up as the hands and feet of Jesus.
